Drawing & Sketching
Line control, shading, proportion, perspective and still-life observation — the grammar behind every other skill.
Discover Your Inner Artist!
We nurture artistic skill through step-by-step learning, engaging activities and innovative teaching methods — from basic drawing and colouring to advanced painting, sketching and fine arts, in a joyful space where imagination takes shape.
Canvas & Beyond is dedicated to nurturing artistic skills through step-by-step learning, engaging activities and innovative teaching methods.
Every student starts where they are. A four-year-old learning to hold a brush and a seventeen-year-old building a fine-art portfolio sit in the same joyful room — each with work pitched at exactly the right level. No rushing, no comparison, no "you're not the artistic type".
A complete foundation in art and craft — taught in the right order, at a pace that respects each learner.
Line control, shading, proportion, perspective and still-life observation — the grammar behind every other skill.
Poster colour, watercolour, acrylic and oil. Colour mixing, brush handling, layering and finishing a canvas.
Paper craft, clay work, collage, festive decor and recycled-material projects that build patience and precision.
Composition, art history, medium specialisation and portfolio preparation for NID, NIFT, CEED and college entrance.
Students are grouped by age and ability so that every class feels challenging but never overwhelming.
First strokes, first colours, first proud painting.
Real technique, real subjects, real confidence.
Serious practice for serious young artists.
For everyone who always meant to start.
Professional Art Teacher · Masters in Fine Art
Gargi teaches the way she wishes art had been taught to her — patiently, in sequence, and with the reason behind every technique explained. A Masters in Fine Art sits behind the curriculum, but what students notice first is that nobody is ever told their work is wrong.
Her classes move from the fundamentals of line and light through to independent canvases, with each learner's pace, interest and temperament shaping what they work on next.
Two focused hours with a clear shape — so students always know what they are learning and why.
Join us every Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm to immerse yourself in the world of art. Additional weekday and weekend batches run through the year.
Quick sketching drills to loosen the hand and train the eye before the main work begins.
Gargi works through the day's technique live, step by step, so students see it done before they try it.
Students work on their own piece with individual correction at the easel — the longest part of the class.
Each piece is discussed kindly and honestly, with a small practice task to carry the learning home.
A glimpse of what students make — from first colour experiments to finished canvases.
My daughter used to say she couldn't draw. Six months in, she's filled two sketchbooks and asks for canvas for her birthday. The change in her confidence is the real result.
Gargi ma'am explains why a shadow falls the way it does instead of just telling you to copy. My portfolio for the entrance exam came together because of these classes.
I joined at forty-two having never painted in my life. Two hours a week has become the part of my week I protect most fiercely. Everyone is welcome here, truly.
